The C6 shifter has to be drilled out and a new threaded shim needs to be put inside it. You can find the shifter with the C5 modification already done, on Ebay for $85. I put it in my 99 and it looks and feels awesome with the B&M shorty. The C6 and C5 stock throw will be much smoother (but sloppy) because the car is meant to be smooth when its stock. If you plan on bringing the car to the track, your going to wish you shortened the shift. I havent missed a gear at the track since the B&M was installed.

C6 shifter for C5 on ebay for $85.

Good Luck!

I see a few mention the "C6" shifter, you do all mean the C6 Z06 correct? Or are the standard C6 and Z06 shifters the same?

I think the shifters are the same for C-6 and C-6 Z06. I also think that I read that the 07 shifter is cheaper in price. Maybe the supporting GM parts rep can clear this up for use and set up a GB at a great price!

All the C6 shifters are the same and for that matter they are same as the C5 from the mount bracket and down. The handle on the C6 has a 20 degree bend on it and it is not threaded for a ****, other than that it is the same as the C5.
Thanks
Justin

I just finished installing mine this week. I ordered the 2007 C6 Z06 Shifter, Base, and **** from Gene over at www.gmpartshouse.com. I did not swap out the base. I left the C5 base in place and only replaced the shifter itself. I think it cost me around 195 total w/shipping.

It is such a huge improvement. I highly recommend it.

I just installed an '07 Z06 shifter today (Saturday the 10th) shortened it even more, threaded it to accept my Hurst **** and 'am very happy with the results. Good money spent. Purchased from Gene Culley at GMPARTSHOUSE.COM
