Default Stock harmonic balancer wobbling

With the car running I noticed my harmonic balancer has a slight wobble to it, is this something I need to worry about?? I dont really notice any vibration but then again I have never really tried to "feel" for any, my exhaust is so loud it vibrates the car anyway. Car has 55k miles

Time to replace it. If you plan to install a cam that would be the time to replace the balancer with an under drive pulley, if no intention of installing a cam you still need to replace this one that is going bad ASAP...my $.02

Default harmonic wobble

Had the same wobble problem on my 98. In one short afternoon I could hear the dampner/pully rubbing against the timing cover. Took it to the dealer and they fixed it. If you operate for too long it will rub a hole through your timing cover adding about another thousand dollars to the fix. Don't drive it as it could fly off.

it depends on how "slight" it is...my 2000 coupe with 8000 miles on it had a slight (I mean very slight wobble) my GM Mechanic said it was normal for them- they all wabble some...now, my 97 with 75K had a more pronounced wobble and I had it replaced with an under drive pulley...the problem is they start to seperate after a while and the damage can be catastrophic!

It is also a PITA job...the steering rack has to come out- like mentioned above, the time to do a cam is the same time to swap the pulley...almost the same amount of work (of course you have to yank out the bump stick) but the car is already apart...pin it if you do it...this way it won't walk off the crank later!

Replace it. SOON!

Mine did not wobble at all. I replaced with and underdrive, which you might consider. And you might consider changing the cam, cause you are about 2/3's of the way there by the time you get it all taken apart.

Sounds like a solid plan. Good luck
