Here is a photo showing how the mount attaches to the car. The strap you see inside the frame has two bolts welded to it, the bolts drop down through the frame and the exhaust mount fits over the two bolts and two nuts holds it on. If you remove those two nuts be very careful you don't push the bolts up into the frame, they will slide up in the frame and fall over and you can't get to them unless you remove the rear fascia.
I don't have a photo handy of the mount itself but it is simply a metal bracket holding a small block of rubber. You can see in the photo a small tab sticking back past the bumper, this is a small flat tab weld to the top of the muffler and it sticks back through a slot in the exhaust mount.
Let me know if you need a better photo of the mount itself. I can snap you one and send it too you.
Hi. What is that metal tab called? Mine rusted out and is no longer there...now my muffler is loose and banging around. Dye out out know the length of it also? Was thinking I could head to Home Depot and pick up a similar piece of metal. Thanks
