When I use the turn signals, either left or right, both turn signal lamps on the dash illuminate. But, on the outside of the car the lights work correctly.
I have two codes: B2578 and B2583. I looked both of these up in the manual and have read all the diagnostic steps and realize the problem could be the hazard switch, turn signal switch or the BCM. I have an extended warranty, so I'll be taking the car in next week to get looked at.
But, now when I attempt to lock the car using the key fob; my horn sounds off like the alarm has been tripped. What is the connection b/w the above system failure and the Horn/alarm system?
Also, can someone confirm whether or not the DIC area is supposed to flash with the Hazards?
Thanks

If I'm reading right, the answer is no. The DIC area does not flash with the signal lights. Just the turn signal indicators and the arrow in the HUD. It sounds like the car thinks you've pushed the panic button on the fob instead of the lock. It may all be related (maybe corroded ground or connector, low battery). The whole thing sounds ground related to me. Post if you find it.

I've been through all the chassis grounds and one interior ground on the drivers side last week. All were in excellent condition, absolutely no corrosion. I disassemled all and lubricated them with dielectric grease and reinstalled. I did that last week when I started having the "intermittant turn signal" issue. Which after reading some more today is most often related to a failing Hazard switch. So my initial thoughts now are that this whole thing is somehow related to a faulty hazard switch.
More new findings today. Went to take the car out today and there was definate relay switching constantly from the passenger foot well. Turned out to be the DRL relay. I pulled it and the noise went away. Pushed on the brake pedal and again a relay started switching madly. Pulled the other DRL relay and no more switching.
Now my hazard switch works correclty and my DIC no longer flashes with the hazard switch. And my blinkers work but, they flash at a fast rate and only the correct green arrow flashes in the dash instead of both.
Does this shed any light on what the problem may be?
ok, so you just walked up to the car and heard the relay switching? or did you use the FOB first. What are the relay numbers that you pulled? 38 and 40? The turn signals stopped working last week? How? Steady on? No flash at all? Both sides or just one?

What are the relay numbers that you pulled? 38 and 40? Yup those are the ones I pulled.
