I bought the car used from a dealer in Concord NC and the cam was installed by the previous owner. The dealer is trying to find out what kind of cam was installed but I have not heard from him yet. The car runs great and has the lope like an LS-6 would have with a cam. I'm only getting about 14 MPG and it's not that big of a concern to me because I only drive the car for pleasure. I wanted to know if the MPG's where normal for this type setup and if the PCM needed to be adjusted for this or would it compensate on it's own. I just don't want to cause an issue with the engine long term.

I would think during normal driving your car would be always trying to achieve 14.7:1 a/f ratio. Reprogramming your computer won't change that. It only changes what happens when you go WOT. 14 mpg sounds awfully low.

14 mpg is very low - unless you are having too much fun with it.

Even a stock Z06 cam would have better mileage than that. I know guys with LS6 engines that get about 18 around town and almost 30 mpg on the highway.

Is your car an A4 or MN6?

The computer can only do so much on its own.
A tune/verification of the existing setup would be my recommendation.
If your running rich you could destroy the cat's, you will get poor mileage and your giving up power. I am running a cam see sig
not sure about city driving mileage but highway is usually 27-28mpg.
with 3.90 gears. this is typical.
try a seach for a forum tuner in your area or post for a tuner in NC.
hope this helps
congratulations on the purchase

I only get about 14-17 mpg around town. But i don't drive the thing like an old lady either.Too tempting to feel that torque.

Get high 20's on the highway tho.

Turn on your instant mileage meter and watch it while you drive.
