need more info on your car and cam sellection.
is it an auto?
what cam are you looking at?
what type of driving are you doing-DD, some track time, both?
we can give you a better answer with more info
I bought the car used from a dealer in Concord NC and the cam was installed by the previous owner. The dealer is trying to find out what kind of cam was installed but I have not heard from him yet. The car runs great and has the lope like an LS-6 would have with a cam. I'm only getting about 14 MPG and it's not that big of a concern to me because I only drive the car for pleasure. I wanted to know if the MPG's where normal for this type setup and if the PCM needed to be adjusted for this or would it compensate on it's own. I just don't want to cause an issue with the engine long term.
I would think during normal driving your car would be always trying to achieve 14.7:1 a/f ratio. Reprogramming your computer won't change that. It only changes what happens when you go WOT. 14 mpg sounds awfully low.
What kind of milage should I be seeing on average?
Estreeter, please bere with me what are you asking is my car a A4 or MN6 can you explain to me what this is
The computer can only do so much on its own.
A tune/verification of the existing setup would be my recommendation.
If your running rich you could destroy the cat's, you will get poor mileage and your giving up power. I am running a cam see sig
