Default PO522 trouble code

I looked this code up and it ends up being engine oil pressure low voltage! I have tryed to new sensors and neither one of them I can get a reading on the gauge. The engine is full of oil and I have taken a valve cover off to see if after the engine is running the oil is being circulated. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

The code means the PCM is not seeing the minimum 0.48 volts that the oil pressure sensor (OPS) should be sending. Basically the problem can only be one of three things ...

a bad OPS
bad wiring (or connections) between the OPS and the PCM
bad PCM

Bottom line, I'd check the wiring (and all connectors) between the OPS and the PCM.

You want to be sure that the wiring is good, because I can't believe it, but the final step after all the wiring diagnostics are done (and you know the OPS is good) is to replace the PCM !!

Good luck, post if you need help in tracing the wiring.

I have checked the wiring per bill curlee's instructions on the sensor...all check out ok. How much does a PCM cost for this? All we could come up with was that there is a short in the wiring some where due to jumpering the 5vdc to the signal wire should max out the oil pressure gauge and that is not happening!

You REALLY want to find that wiring problem ... a new PCM runs about $200.00, and you'll need a dealer or someone who has a Tech2 to program the PCM (also the BCM has to be re-synched with the new PCM with the Tech2) with software, your VIN number, etc. Don't know how much dealerships charge for the programming.
