I have a 2000 vert. Just recently my keyless entry (the fob), is losing it's memory. Has anyone had this happen, and is it the fob or something with the receiver in the car that is losing it. I can reprogram and it will work for a day or two, then nothing. I'll reprogram it again and it will work for a day or two. I put a new battery in it, so I know the battery isn't an issue, unless I got a bad battery.
I know 99% will reply to this thread....I'll try to come back to check. But, If you know what's going on, please send personal email.
Stand next to the car and hold the lock and unlock button at the same time until the car beeps. I think this reprograms them and it worked great for me when mine started to lose memory.
The fobs have weak contacts to the battery. When you bang it in your pocket or against a wall, it momenarily loses battery power and must be resynced. Carefully pry up the battery contacts so they put more pressure on the battery. Bet this fixes it!
Go to “technical data base” and then to “Corvette ECM Computer Codes”. Then select your year car. Read the instructions and then scroll down to the "READ MORE" window to view the code definitions.\
How old is your 12 VDC main battery? When the car is started in the morning, the starter draws 300-400 amps. High current will cause the battery output to drop low (sometimes below 9 VDC) and the fobs will lose sync. The next time it happens press and hold the lock and un-lock buttons at the same time and wait for the horn to toot. That is a RE-SYNC procedure and should get you back in sync.
This is just to add that sometimes the fobs just go bad. I had one that began losing synch. I replaced the battery and bent the battery contacts. It still continued to lose synch.
I then started using another fob, no problems. Sometimes these fobs just go bad.

I think this can be a problem. I dropped mine a couple of times and it lost sync and I suspect that it was the battery contacts. The contacts must contact both the battery and the circuit board.
