Tuner ShootOut Report
I met the ARE, Breathless, Performance Tech guys and was impressed with all their setups. Congrats to all who showed up to race!! And to those who didn't, well you would have lost anyway!! j/k
We ran well on the motor and with the 70 shot but the head gaskets found a way to exit the motor when we applied the 200 direct port shot. The NOS controller was set for a 3 second delay and as soon as the NO2 hit the motor fell off. I'm not to thrilled with blowing a head gasket at the track but we got the NX system almost a week later than promised. :( This left almost Zero time for testing and we were only able to make 2 dyno pulls @ 1:30 am after finishing the install and had to hit the road to Route 66. I think we probably hurt the gaskets on the dyno while tuning the motor. Hopefully it just needs gaskets and pistons.
Ran a 10.97 on the motor @ 126.xx with a 1.505 60' time. Thanks DRM :D & 27mpg to go with it. As most of you guys know Doug is not a drag racer and hasn't done much in this area, with the exception of my car. And I want to thank him for doing a great job. He built the motor 10's NA :D And set up the suspension 1.4x 60's :D Pretty damned good imho
10.440 was the best of the weekend w/70 wet shot...@134
I also had two runs with sub 1.5 60' times a 1.49 & 1.47 Once the spray is dialed I think 1.3's are within reach. Doug really knows how to setup a car, these are the best 60 times I am aware of from a C5.
I expect we should be in the mid 9.'s after we get the N02 system dialed in.
Congrats to ARE on two great 9.8's @ 146 WOW, it was nice to run with you guys. Wade's car has more in it than a 9.8 just wait..
I have a couple of vids I could put up if someone could email me with the how too's.. I have a sony digital video camera, do I need special software?
