Swaping gears Question.

I want to go to 342s from 315s.Can I Just swap out the gears or change the whole rear end thanks for the info. jeff

You could just swap the gearing.

replacing the entire unit or rebuilding it w/new gears either way will work. replacing the entire differential might be cheaper

Check out this thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1629922 Looks like Cajundude is doing this now and it seems like a very good deal. I would almost bet he would probably even have a set of used 3.42 gears he swapped out for someone going to a higher ratio. Worth a try either way.
