Default Cryo treating rear end casing

I have searched around and came up empty, does anyone know if it would be beneficial to get the whole rearend casing cryo treated? If it can make out gears and such stronger why can't it make the weak casings stronger?

Thanks for any insight.

I had my case done along with just about everything else. Wasn't much more at the time and it has held together well with the DTE brace.

What kind of use does your car see. Any hard launches on sticky tires?

I didn't even notice that haha. I have this almost unrealistic dream of launching a C5 from 6500 rpm's and banging gears all the way down the track. Doubt we will ever see the day until the Billet or cast iron case comes out but one can dream and ask questions I suppose. In all reality I would be plenty happy with consistent 1.5 short times reliably though.

As it sits when I go to the track I leave like I am driving a civic because I don't want to break my stock output shafts.

There is only two real solutions for the C5 driveline problems.
1) Cast iron case
2) Custom rear support system that supports the rear of the pinion.

You can beef every part up and run all the braces in the world but it won't stop the pinion from shooting out the rear of the case. Trust me I've done it enough.

I blew up the stock diff on runflats going 20mph with wheelhop. I then rebuilt the diff with lingenfelter hardened shafts (both sides) cryo treated gears, HD clutch packs, good fluid, and a cooler - assembled the transaxle and installed a DTE brace, put the whole shabag back together... took it for a ride (it had been a year since I last drove it) and blew the diff again 20 miles later...split the case. I've never even made it to the track and I've got 2 diffs down - one of which was fully built. So the moral of the story is corvette differentials are completely terrible, good luck!

Phil,
Have you seen Phil's (at DTE) new cast iron rear case? I've seen some of the pictures he posted here a few months back. Nice looking piece of work.

I cryo'd everything and purchased both DTE output shafts, HD springs, and brace. Knock on wood so far so good. Consistent 1.54 60' times in my M6 leaving off the 2-step at 6300 rpm.

The key is NO wheel hop ever. I run M/T ET streets all the time and it has worked out well for me thus far.
