disconnect the skip shift?

I had a 1993 6 speed that I disconnected the skip shift simply by the quick disconnect wire. I now have an 03 6spd. Can I do the same to this car to eliminate unwanted 1 to 4 shifts? Thanks

not without setting a check engine light.you need to get a skip shift eliminator,it's like $20-25.

From what I understand, a 2.2K ohm resistor will solve the CEL.

If you are going to add some mods and are in need of a tune, have it done then. I had my tuner 'erase' the skip shift after the head cam install. Just a thought....

I have a CAGS eliminator on my desk at home. It's brand-new, and never used (I haven't opened the box). I don't need it. I'll give it to you for $15...shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I have some 2.2kohm resistors left over from when I did my Trans Am. If I can put my hands on them, I'll send you one for free. I have 3-4 left over. I need to find them so I can do the vette anyway...
