Hi.....my door locks don't lock all the time. It doesn't matter if I use the remote or the door switch. I hear what sounds like a solenoid working but locks don't lock. It takes a few times till they do lock. Any advice.
Probably the BCM contacts are dirty. Had a similar problem on mine. Replaced the door lock actuator but then it wasnt it. Sliced open the relay, and cleaned the contacts with emory cloth. Hasnt skipped a beat since. Do a search, this has been brought up b4. Someeone even posted pics on where to slice open the contacts.

That's possible. Or maybe the solenoid, though "operating", may not be traveling it's full range of motion as well.
Every once in a while, when mine does this, I cycle the inside lock lever rapidly back and forth a number of times by hand. I then try to cycle the lock from un-locked to locked while the door is open, using the FOB. In my case this has been successful and the lock mechanism resumes normal operation.

As the guys say, it could be the BCM or the door control module is on its way out. I had similar symptoms when mine failed and had the module replaced.
I've also heard that some guys have had problems with the wiring in the rubber boot that runs through the door hinge area. Apparently its possible for the wires to get chaffed. A good wiggling of that boot has been known to improve things. Strange but true. Worth a try first as it would be the cheapest fix.
