I recently installed a mild cam, 918 springs and 7.42 push rods. I’m now getting a little tapping sound from the valve train. From reading some post I understand that this is normal but it’s a little annoying. Has anyone had any success at quieting the tapping?

I have the same problem on my 4 LS based motors. The only time I see that problem less relevant is with a re buiklt motor with different parts.
After I finished my H/C install and dyno tuned the car I noticed a louder valve train clatter than usual - the typical "sewing machine" clatter that a lot of H/C folks have mentioned. This is due to the higher cam lift and tougher valve springs inherent with a H/C car - nothing to worry about. Besides, the lope / rumble of my car usually drowns out the valve clatter
