Transmission Problems
My 00 Coupe developed a problem yesterday. I was at WOT in 2nd gear when the trans shifted early and hard into 3rd at around 88-90mph (2.73 gear usually shifts closer to 100). After that, I could not command a downshift via WOT or manually with the shifter. When I stopped, I manually selected first, and the car would not move, it acted like it had a transbrake. It would accelerate when left in 2 or D, albeit in 2nd gear, and very sluggish. It seems to upshift 2,3,4 perfectly fine and the converter still locks up. 1st gear seems to be non-existant and downshifts can not be commanded. Does this sound like a mechanical problem, or electrical? No SES light ever came on.
Needless to say, I'm irritated that my 35k mile stock (cai/catback) car smoked the trans. I've put TONS of power through my Firebirds with 4L60E's and only smoked one with a huge stall and 200 hit of nitrous.
