Default My Power Loader Experience

First let me tell you that you're probably not going to read anything that you haven't already read but I wanted to share my experience anyway.

1) It took a little more than 6 weeks to get it, no big surprise. :(
2) The install went smoothly and did not require a disconnect of the battery. :p:
3) First impressions were dissappointing because although the shifts were firmer than stock they were not as firm as most have experienced. I did not even experience the 1st to 2nd tire chirp. :cry
4) I then made my first trip down the drag strip...see sig for best 1/4 mile(on cold run flats and launching from idle) :D
5) I have concerns about future emmisions tests so I'm going to find out what it would cost to get another Power Loader with a stock program so I can switch back and forth if needed. :yesnod:

To sum it up, the Power Loader is worth every cent and I'm 100% satisfied!

Mike,
Great times! It's amazing what cold air will do to perk up a motor

Don't worry about the emissions either. Mine passed no problems whatsoever.

Yeah, it's called Superchips or Hypertech. And at half the cost. :smash:

Ditto MattG,

Unfortunately here in the South the tracks shut down when the weather gets too cold. Hopefully I will get a pass with 50 degree or better weather before the season ends. Looking for 12s.

I would buy the Powerloader in a second... if... IF one could easily return to stock settings when needed/wanted. That is the only thing that keeps me from ordering one.

Well if Joe passed (we're from the same city) I guess I'm not going to have to get a second Power Loader after all. Thanks for the info.

I power loaded this past weekend, and m very satisfied. The engine does'nt seem alot more powerful but the A4 certainly performs like it should have from the factory. I was also a little worried about no option to return to stock but after 3 days of great driving pleasure I can honestly say I would never return to the old A4.Got to go the road calls.

Really? Maybe here on the forum where the Powerloader is pitched really well. Remember Superchips is the largest in the World. That fact lends me to believe that they also know what they are doing. I have stated clearly why I chose Superchips. I also backed up my performance boost claims with dyno results that showed gains of nearly 20 rwt in the low rpm range. If I ever learn how to drive this beast, I will report some respectable 1/4 times. I'm thinking 12.5 should be no problem.

1 Powerloader compared to 1 Superchips is a pretty fair comparison. 2 Powerloaders to accomplish the same as what 1 Superchips will deliver is ridiculous.

Not to offend anybody....I gave Superchips first shot to program my PCM when I had the 3.42's and Pro Torque installed.
The slogan on the box says "the one that works'. Well it didn't. They tried, tried and tried again. It didn't work.
I continue to hit the rev limiter at WOT in every situation. The car does not downshift in 3 and the shifts are sloppy.

So that I don't have to tell the whole story over again,I gave Superchips EVERY opportunity to program my 2001 Coupe. They just don't have the 2001 program down yet. Are they Professional ...Yes, Courteous...Yes, Competent.....not on the 2001 vette.

P.S. I ordered a Powerloader for a CF discounted price of $450.00 from Exit 28 on 9/28.
The Superchips 2001 Microtuner cost me $591.00 with the "custom" programming:confused:,so wheres the bargain?

I'm crossing my fingers that Steve Cole can solve the problem:D

vstella, what you say about the 2001 may be very true ... I don't know. That's really too bad you had that experience. What I do know is that you can get a Micro Tuner for any other year C5 for about $100 less than the best price I have heard on a Powerloader. People have posted on this forum that they have gotten the Micro Tuner for $325. Mine works great, no problems and great improvements.

I have nothing against TTS or Steve Cole. I'm just glad that I found an alternative. I needed a program because I was trying to get gears and a TC in my car and had already been waiting over 6 months for my Powerloader. Ordered the Superchips and had it one week later. No regrets.

Take care, and enjoy your Powerloader. I hear it's a wonderful product.

EvilDeed,
If you read the other posts in this thread you will see that the second Power Loader is not required after all. I had a concern and a possible solution that I felt warranted further investigation, that's all. Now that I know there's no issue with emmisions testing I have no need to switch back to the stock program. I'm glad you are happy with your Superchips but this thread, as the title clearly stated, is about the Power Loader.

Oh, I'm soooo sorry. When I entered this thread, you had not yet resolved to not buy an additional Powerloader. My subsequent postings were in response to other member posts.

BTW: I have just started a club of members that do not welcome factual information in their posts even if those facts may benefit other members. Congratulations you are the charter member. Just kidding of course. The beauty of this forum is that many people participate and not everyone is going to have the same opinion. Don't be so possessive of threads you start. Once submitted, they no longer belong to you ... they are forum property. I'm thankful that another member introduced me to Superchips in a different Powerloader thread. :D If you stick around here a while, hopefully you will learn to appreciate the dynamic quality of information here.

I know this can happen to everyone but Superchips screwed my computer. Search the archive for the full story.

Tow home = $88
Over night shipping and insurance = $130
Microtuner = $350
Aggravation = Priceless
False Advertising = Unacceptable

They sent me $35 dollars to cover shipping after they stated they would pay for it. I had to walk two miles to the closest Mailboxes Etc and wait 2 months for a refund. It also took 1 month to arrive!!!

The claim that they can adjust tire size is false. The ONLY option I had was turning on the fans sooner.
