Anyone Pinned a Eagle 4340 Forged Crank ? Trying to do mine using the Crank Pinning Tool and cannot seem to make a dent in Drilling it. Any Suggestions, idea's etc. or am I wasting my time and effort ???
Well, the purchase of a carbide steel bit and using a "slow drill" I was able to get the hole drilled in the Crank and a pin installed ! Patience was the key used a 18 Volt Cordless Drill at low speed !
metal cutting fluid like "Mystic Metal Mover" (yellow can w/ blue lettering) will help lots also - when drilling, generously squirt the Mystic onto the drill bit - NEVER allow the drill bit to get hot or even warm - if it does, you are not using enough cutting fluid

I've got an SLP UD pulley (has a 3/16 keyway) and I bought/used the ATI LS1 pin kit for that. Put the fixture on, drill the hole, ream it, stick the 3/16 pin in. Takes just a few mins.
