Default Header install: How do you detach the O2 sensor plug?

I'm in the middle of my head/cam swap, and I'm about to take off my exhaust manifolds. I have disconnected the rear O2 plug where the manifold meets the H pipe, but I can't figure out how to detach the plug from the car. It looks like it's intended to slide out of a small clip holding it to the frame, but I can't figure out how to get it to let go. The portion I'm referring to is connected directly to the O2 sensor on the manifold, and it is clipped to the frame.

The clip in the frame has like a dovetail, the connector will slide off of the frame clip. I think you have to lift something though, can't remember.

No need to. Just put a 22mm wrench on the o2 and remove it from the pipe. The wires will twist up quite a bit but won't hurt anything. When you reinstall them, just twist them up the other way before you put them in the hole and carefully turn them to get them started. Use a little anti-seize on the threads to make it easier.

Once the exhaust and manifolds are out, if you need to move the harness or add extensions or o2 simms, it will then be much easier.

ps: The o2 connectors slide up and off the gray plastic pins. You will probably have to move them anyway to clear the headers so just pop them out of the frame with a screwdriver.

I know EXACTLY the grey clip attached to the frame that you are talking about - I think there is a clip or something on the O2 sensor clip that has to be lifted up when you try and slide the O2 clip off of the grey clip on the frame - ie: it's like all other electrical connectors on the car - there is a clip on the outside that needs to be lifted up as you slide the thing apart

Well, it came off when I used a flat-head screwdriver to lift the front end of the grey clip. Thanks for the advice. The manifolds came out just fine, and the O2 sensors should be easy to get off now...

Comes of FAIRLY easy when you know the trick, but it doesn't help that you have to do this under the car, standing on your head, with limited space and dirt falling in your eyes!
