Help! Installed C6 Z06 shifter incorrectly
I just installed a C6 Z06 shifter in my 01Z. However, something is wrong and I want to know what before I take off the console. When I place it in gear, I can push the shifter side to side. I discovered this when I could not get into 1st. I had to push the shifter to the far right in neutral then gently come back to the left to get into 1st. I had to do just the opposit to get into reverse. I know I tightened everything up including the bolt....? I appreciate any help.

you may have installed the bottom of the shifter out of the pocket(not sure if this is possible)
most likely, the shifter base is out of alignment, ck out the stock shifter, see that 'L' shaped pin, use that in the hole up front to align
edit: more info, if you can't slide the pin in, loosen the 2 torx bolts, also notice the wear marks from the bolts on the oe base
