Anyone try this approach to ramps? Looks like a cheap way to get your C5 up in the air!
Good: cheap, ease your way up - also nice if you back onto them, should NOT slide and you can track your progress up by counting the bumps at each layer
Bad: could have issues as you hit each layer, but a simple angled end should take care of this, Vette might not like going where a "stang has been?!?!?!
I was thinking of adding wheels at the tall end of each and a handle off to the side of the low end. Then ya just grab the handle, lift until wheels hit the ground, and drag or push them out of the way.
For one thing, a Mustang - even lowered like my son's 2002 GT, does not need a ramp to climb up for changing oil. Next, wayyyyyy toooo muuccchhhhh ramp for a Mustang let alone a Vette. Lastly, too much trailer park, not enough Vette ambiance.
There are a lot of better options out there than building a set of wooden ramps as long as I am tall and weighing about as much. I'll pass.

hey lc, you been in the woodlands tooooo long. come over to the other side of i-45, we use ramps over here. position the car on them to get the lift under the car easier, and use them under the car ramps to get it on the trailer without dragging the bottom. not in use, just stack them against the wall or put them up on the handy-dandy shelves i built to store tires, wheels and other parts you don't want taking up floor space.
That's why I own aluminum hydraulic jacks with less than 2-1/2" clearance for my lowered vert. My Elite aluminum rocker savers with built-in pucks complete the package. No ramps necessary to scuff my shiny garage floor.
I made some ramps very similar to those (shorter) a few years ago for the C4 and they also work great on the C5. I also drilled holes on the floor so I can pin them in place to prevent them from scooting around on the smooth floor. Made them out of 2X10’s. Great for oil changes. Would keep them over Rhino ramps any day. As mentioned, tracking your progress up each step is a nice feature.
Looks like they 'borrowed' forum member EG's ramp design. I built these same ramps last summer and they work great. They are, however, very heavy and bulky.
