Default HID question

i tried searching, but couldnt find the exact answer i was looking for, so lets try this. i work at an auto body shop, and we have a lot of front end hits on bmws, porsches, mercedes, etc... we get a whole new headlight for these cars, even if its just the lens that is cracked. so i have a lot of ballasts and bulbs from these cars. so therefor i dont have an actual kit or directions, which is why im having a little difficulty.
i got the lights all hooked up, and they work great, for about 10 seconds until the fuse pops. it looks like in some of the kits sold here that there is some kind of relay that i may need to run to get them to work without popping the fuses,or maybe i made a mistake somewhere else. if it is the relay, anyone have any info on what size relay, or tips on wiring it in. thanks for any help in advance, its much appreciated.

just put in a relay. There are directions in the c5 tech tips section. Thats what I did. I used audi Projectors and my lights have been working great I tried what you did and it blew fuses, as soon as I added the relay, it was a-ok

Here is the link.

You just use the power from the headlight harness as a trigger wire for the relay.
