Default lsx intake

Does anyone know if you have to change anything else when changing to a lsx composite intake? For a 2001 zo6

No you do not. I installed a FAST 90mm LSX on my 2001 but I also added an LS2 90mm throttle body and you will need an adaptor wiring harness for that. Otherwise, I would recommend you purchase a new set of the OEM rubber intake o-ring gskets and a new OEM throttle body gasket and bolt her on

Enjoy

You need to replace the vally cover bolts with the ones supplied with the fast, also you might consider relocating the map sensor or this might happen:

Do you mean the 78MM Fast intake? If so they are a waste, 90MM or keep your LS6, which unless you have a lot of motor work is the better choice anyway.

It's a 90 mm, the car will have lg long tube headers and cats as well as the x pipe and bb prt exhaust. I also have the predator programmer but someone told me it was a waste of money? Can i move the sensor elsewhere?

The FAST has a vacuum port on the back passengers side. I plan to "T" off of that and put the MAP and the A/C vacuum lines there. I am going to plug the rear hole in the manifold. I also just picked up all stainless bolts to replace the FAST supplied bolts. A lot of guys have had the bolts rust so they look like crap. I live near the ocean so that is pretty much guaranteed in my case. The EVAP also will not install as it does on the LS6 intake. You will not be using the coolant on the throttle body either (no provision for it) so you need something for that. I plan to put a new line between the radiator and the crossover pipe. If you don't have the FAST instructions, they are available on their web site.

In that case, you'll also need to switch to a 90mm (4 bolt) throttle body.

If those are your only mods, it is a waste of money

If you are going FI, I have read the FAST intake may not be the best way to go due to the multi-piece design under boost. You may want to research this further prior to spending the money.

Yeah, pass if you're gonna put a blower on it, and honestly I would wait until you do heads and cam and do it all then.

I Believe the LS2 is better suited to FI, I would also use the cash to get the H/C sooner and do the intake later.

A properly ported 78mm FAST will maintain the same power curve as the 90mm FAST up to around 5,500 RPM after which the 90mm will give you 5-10 more hp. The intakes are the same, the opening is different. The 78mm properly ported will provide 15-20 hp over the LS6.

also the stock 90 mm throttle body gasket that i got from gm did not work on my fast 90. it was not an o-ring type seal, which you need, but similiar to the stock ls1 gasket. The fast is also shipped with the o-ring gasket from comp, mine was missing from the box but they are sending me one.

The G2 is the Nick Williams throttle body with the LG logo on it. Unfortunately, last time I contacted LG on this they didn't have any. Last time I contacted Nick Williams he wasn't making the Vetter TB any more.

If you go from a 78mm to a 90mm, tuning will be mandatory. The 90mm will dump in a lot more air for any given throttle plate movement, and in some cases, has set off the Reduced Power mode as a result. I wouldn't go to a 90mm from a 78mm unless you have a tune planned.
