You need to specify if you are speaking about the radio/hvac controller or the DIC itself. The radio and hvac controller, the bulbs will burn out with old age and need replacing with a source of 70ma bulbs and a soldering iron. The DIC has indicators that use standard lamps, I think 194's back there, however, the background illumination is a whole different matter using the high-voltage unit on the rear of the cluster as well as special tube lights on the two sides. GM doesn't sell those by themselves. You have to replace the whole cluster or find another cluster to remove the parts from. Changing out the cluster causes a a legal issue with the mileage.

Which lights specifically, I've replaced or removed each and every light on the inside of these things... be a little more specific and we'll fix ya up!
