I have a broken muffler... The tailpipe is no longer attached so things are loose.. I am not interested in buying a new exhaust system at this point.. Can the muffler itself be replaced or do I have to buy it as a system? All the catalogs (that I have) sell only the whole system...starting at 799 and up.
The stock c5 mufflers last a long time but have essentially no value since so many people replace them with Z06/performance mufflers. You need to find one in your area. Keep your post to the top and someone may volunteer one to you.

will do...Where might I find the Z06 system?... I hear it is an "inexpensive" alternative...
I've got one I'd give you if you were a little closer or could wait a couple of months. I'll be down your way in a couple of months to visit family. please please please don't offer to pay shipping.

I will probably have the problem solved by then...but thanks for the offer.. That's one of my favorite parts of Corvette ownership... camaraderie Do you have family in Corpus?
