Default External air temp wrong

My outside air temp reading is roughly 15 degrees below the actual temp. Bad sensor? It does change, but always stays well below the real temp. (it's not on metric in case that's what you're thinking) Anyone fix this problem?

The sensors are pretty inexpensive and easy to change, I'd try that first. Here's a picture, you can actually reach it from the top by raising the hood and reaching down to the frame and pull out the little nipple that holds the connector in and then you'll have enough slack to pull it up to disconnect and replace the sensor

I noticed last summer my Outside temp would drop 10-15 degrees and then go back to actuall intermittantly. I mentioned this to the dealer and they came back and said " no problem found" so I drove off. got down the street and it happened again. had the outside sensor replaced and havent noticed any problems. But its been winter..so the other day it was about 80 outside and I swear it dropped and then went back up. I notice this because when it drops the A/C will throttle down and the car wont stay cool. I read somewhere about a sensor in the dashboard that measures UV or some thing or maybe its the dual controller.

Any of that sound familiar?

I think I'll try a sensor. Great illustration by the way.

Try changing the sensor first.

Yep,,, there is a interior temp sensor next to the ignition switch and a sun load sensor on the RIGHT side of the defrost duct. (small black dome on the duct. ) The one on the right is for twilight sentinel.

Default bad sensor

Its a thermistor and its fallable. My Pontiac Montana did this and I went back under warranty about 4 or 5 times. After several NTFs they replaced the sensor. Results... IT WORKS FINE NOW. Doubt it is anything else. BIGHANK
