Default Check Engine Light

I have a 2000 Vert, had it for almost a year with 57100 miles on it.

Recently I had a few guage light warnings come on. Every once in a while the ABS/Trackton control lights come on the cluster. I shut her down and restart and it goes away til some other day.

I brought it in for service and paid the diagnostic fees. They couldn't find the problem. I brought it in again a few months later to flush the coolant and I asked them to check it again, still nothing found.

Recently the Check Engine light came on. I'm gonna try to ask service not to charge me, but in the event that they do, can I check with Advanced Auto Parts or one of the other Auto Parts places to run a basic test on her? I would hate to stoop as low as to ask those guys to check it and find out that they can't.

If anyone would have any other ideas of what possible common problems cause the Check Engine light to come on like O2 sensor, Mass Airflow sensor or something maybe even as simple as the Gas Cap being loose, please let me know.

Thanks!
Larry

Your going to just LOVE this one!!! You dont need on stinken dealer to read your DTC's!!!! You can do it your self!!! FOR FREE!

Go to thhis website and follow all the directions!

This is the absolute best C5 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) web site!!!

http://www.corvettedoctor.com/Code_Main.html
http://www.corvettedoctor.com/index.html

www.corvettedoctor.com

Go to “technical data base” and then to “Corvette ECM Computer Codes”. Then select your year car. Read the instructions and then scroll down to the "READ MORE" window to view the code definitions.\

Here is another very good site:

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_cod...d-ii-codes.php

Make sure to include the H or C suffix when you post your DTC's on the forum!! If you have a ton of history codes, just clear them. All they do is confuse the issue that is the current fault.

Thanks Bill!

I will check it out when I get home. Can you clear the Check Engine light in the Diagnostic Mode?

It is such an eye sore.

Here is what I found w/o an H at the end

P0410 H C - AIR System

Would this be anything from the filter to the throttle body? It is a vauge description. I have an aftermarket Haltech Stinger intake, that I installed about 11 months ago.

YES! You can clear the DTC, Get into manual diagnostics, bring up the module (PCM) and press and hold the reset button.

That code deals with the A.I.R. Check Valves. I find the most recient post that I made on this subject that allows you to fix it.
