Default Which should come first?

I've been planning on putting in a mild cam and possibly ported LS6 heads, but also on throwing out the 2.73s and upgrading to 3.42s and possibly a higher T/C, but Im not sure which one should come first. I know that the gears are the major weak sport, but damn I want a cam in it. Should either take a priority over the other? For those of you who have done all this, what did you do first? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Talk with Andre at Edge Racing. They make torque converters, and he will tell you to try the TC first, then the gears --- you may get to where you want to be with both of those mods (traction limited acceleration). Driveability is not affected as much with TC and gears as with the many many combinations of heads and cams that are out there(with which some have ended up with problems -- not many, but some...).
Once you get the TC and the gears in, you can then decide how much more HP to try to add....if you go too deep on either the gears or HP mods, you will end up being left at the line in smoke anyway.........that's JMHO.

Thanks guys. I figured thats what I should do first. My goal is to get into the 11's so the gears and T/C should help me a lot more than the H/C I assume.

oyealiz has a 97 auto with 3.42's a converter, cold air, headers, etc. but hasn't been into the engine. She's been 11.80's on drag radials many times
