thermo stat ?

i have a 02 zo6,the water pump started to leak so i bought a new gm pump and now my 170 thermo will not fit in the new pump.any ideas part#89018053 pump kit

the pump is a new G.M PUMP.i think i'm gonna have to have a ls2 thermo.my 180 is a motorad brand i believe.it's too big for the housing and is all made together.the stock one that came with the new pump,the thermo comes out of the housing.

Sounds like the pump from the 2004 LS1 and LS2.

You need a thermostat from late 2004 to current.

thanks guys.thats what i'll order even though corvette garage told me the ls2 thermo would not work,but i think their wrong.

Exactly what they said. I found the same thing on my 2000 when I tried to put an aftermarket thermo in. The best thing is, your thermostat is less than $20.
