Emissions
Iam about to purchase a 99 6-speed with head/cam package and full exhaust. The only problem is the x-pipe has no cats, but the guy is giving me his stock cats. Does anybody know if a shop could just weld them onto the off road x-pipe so it will pass emissions? And if so how much this would cost approx? Any answers or suggestions would be greatly appreicated.
Passing emissions is a function and visual test here in Kalifornia is see $$$$$$$$ in your future.

If you go to a "smog only" testing facility, they MAY not even look. I had my nitrous on there and it passed and my buddy just took his maggie'd z06 with headers/no cats and it passed with flying colors.

Are they long tube headers? If so, the stock cats may not fit, you may have to buy some high flow cats. Take a look under the car and look at the 'off road' section and compare it to the stock cats. You will have to jack the car up a ways to see it.
