For $1500 get Gears...Simply the biggest bang for the buck.. period..
4.10's for an MN6

3.42's and a 2800 Stall Converter for an A4 not sure of the combined price..

$300 for a Vararam

$500 for a Dyno Tune..

Used CAI $150-200
New Long tube headers $1695.00
Professional Tune $400.00

Then take the remaining $700.00 or so and take the gf on a short vacation. That will butter her up so you can get a loan for $6000.00 for

H/C
Fast 90/90

Let me know if it works !!

The Chuckster took the words right out of my mouth. I have an appointment at ECS next month to put 4.10s in my vert and can't wait! I'm not sayin' I will never touch the motor, but GMPP and fuel mileage is still a concern with me and 'am hoping that the ratio pleases me enough to leave engine mods alone for a while.

Intake, cam, headers, cat-back.

Intake $300
cam, indicentals, springs, pushrods = <$1000
headers = $1000 - $1700 installed
dynotune $300-400
used ls6 ti catback 400ish

You will swear it's a whole new car!

Keep an eye on the C5 Parts section for good deals on used gear. An air intake setup such as a Blackwing or Vararam and some long tube headers and a gear would be a good start.

Definitely gears/converter/air intake. Headers really doesn't add a lot to power when u consider the dollar to hp ratio (at best 30hp). Your $$ for seat of pants effect would be much better spent on the gears.

If $3000 is your budget, nothing will get you to the end of the track (within that budget) faster than adding a nice nitrous system and some drag radials.
