I am installing braided brake line and just had my calipers powdercoated. I installed everything this morning and both rear calipers are leaking through the bleeder screw's end. I have tried three sets of bleeder screws (GM's, NAPA, and Russell's Speed Bleeders) and they all three leak through the hole on the end. All three sets appear to bottom out against the nut head and the caliper.
Any ideas? What does the tapered end on tyhebleeder screw seat up against? Could the seats be damaged (on both calipers???)?

Wondering if the bleeder screw's seat inside the caliper may have a little powder coating or other debris. Powdercoaters typically use silicone plugs in threaded fittings to prevent them from getting coated. Try removing the bleeder screw and get a good look up inside the hole. If necessary, remove the caliper and get it out into a strong light for inspection.

Also, check the screws you're using against the fronts. All four should be the same length.
I removed, painted and rebuilt my calipers last summer. No paint or debris in the bleeder holes. In stalled speed bleedrs and torqued them to spec. Two of them leaked. I wound up torqueing to spec and going 1/2 turn more. They don't leak now.
I had this problem on one my rear calipers last week - it was the nasty little copper ring between bleeder and caliper that must have become mishpaded because when I replaced it = no more leaking.

Copper washer? The bleeder screws don't use a washer, copper or otherwise. By any chance are you referring to the brake hose attachment to the caliper?
