This has happened a few times, and it is beginning to annoy me.. some times, usually when I start the car, the washer fluid starts to spray onto the windshield without me touching the button. I let the reservoir run dry, but the motor will still try and spray. I figured out that if I touch the button half ways, or tap it, then it stops. Does anybody know what is causing this? It would be nice to be able to fill it back up with out having to worry about it randomly spraying everywhere... thanks in advance.
I would, but have no friends with C5's.. do you think that is the problem though? I am thinking of pulling the motor all by its' self and being done with it.
It sounds like a short in the switch. It would do the same thing if you held the button down. Plus, you said that tapping it sometimes stops the motor...right?

Yes, If I tap it or press the button half way then it stops.
My button popped out the other day. When the button is out, there is no contact and the spray and wipers run. So it is a matter of the button making contact when not engaged and not making contact when you push it. The button pops out the end of the stalk with a small screwdriver. Pop it out and make sure the contacts are clean. Be careful...there are two small springs in there holding the button out and they can spring out and are hard to find.
