well can i run this oil in my vette??? does any one here use it... is it really better??????????????????
Royal Purple is good oil. Personally, I run Mobil 1 in my Corvette engine and Red Line synthetics, elsewhere.
Honestly, you can run anything you want - but the manual calls for oil meeting GM spec XXXXXX so you do so at your own risk.
I can tell you that the LS1 in the 1999 (probably other years, but I don't want to spread rumors if other years are different) Camaro and Firebird don't require synthetic oil, according to the booklets that come with those cars... Why? Maybe the camshaft design is "radical" enough that synthetic is required in the Vette (maybe it's no different at all, I don't know). Or maybe it's something that Vette owners are willing to pay for that Camaro owners are not - and GM thinks it might cut down on warrantee costs... or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

I have used Royal Purple before but have heard bad things about it as well. My tuner says that they had a lot of issues with Royal Purple. If it matters any my engine blew when I was running Royal Purple... I dont think that caused it though

I dont really want to quote him on the issues they had but I believe it boiled down to blowing seals. I will PM him and ask him to post his experience...
