What kind of battery is used in the Tire Pressure Sencors? Where can they be bought? And can they be easily installed when I get my new tires mounted? I have one sencor that is not working. Thanks for any help or advise!
There are two version of the TPS monitors. One covers years 1997-2000 and the newer version is from 2001-2004. The older ones are more expensive(New ones are about 40 bucks a piece I think). I have not changed the batteries myself, but I believe you have to cut open the sensor to replace the battery and put a new one back in.
By the way, if you are receiving an XX error for a monitor you can go through the reprogram process yourself and reset each sensor with a large magnet (such as an old speaker). This might fix the problem without putting in new batteries. Just do a search on the forum for the directions.

The original battery in the 1997-2000 sensor is a 3V Renata CR2477N lithium battery. It has leads welded to it to connect to the circuit board. You can also use a Panasonic BR2477A/VA, which comes with the leads already attached. Available from Digi-Key. For installation directions see:
If your sensor is out of a 97-2000 and you decide not to rebuild it, I'd be interested in buying it. I need one more to complete a set of four that I'm rebuilding. Let me know.
