Default Jacking Worries

Tried changing my oil the other day. Got the jack under the crossmember by turning the tire to the side and going in from the passenger side. Got the car up with 0 problems, but when I start to lower the car back down, it almost seems like the jacking points arent supporting the car... is there any 'give' to this area of the car? I imagine it should be rock solid. Maybe it was just my mind messing with me, the jack lets the car down a little faster than I would like and its better safe than sorry.

I have found that the best places for the jack stands are along the fram rails (Right where the holes are, that are used to tie down the car on the delivery truck to the dealer). Do a search on the forum and there are multiple threads on how to jack the car up and which jack points work best. I actually run up on two 1.5 inch thick boards in order to get the car high enough to slide the jack under the front end. I then put a 2X4 on the jack and jack at the front cross member.
