C1281 Trouble Code
My 98 has been showing theis trouble code every once in a while since it was new (don't get me started on competence of GM dealerships....).
I know its the Steering Position Sensor issue, but I have also read testimonials that it may well be a bad ABS connection, etc. ( I did try pulling and cleaning the big connector at the back, but it did not seem to help).
I have noticed that when I see this code, it is almost always when I first start the car, or at least within the first block of driving. For those out there who really understand how this system works, does this fact that the trouble code is set at start-up give you any insight on the best course to fix it. I am tired of seeing the warning message, but would hate to spend the money on replacing the sensor, and still have the problem.
