I hope someone has an answer to this concern. I have just experience the same thing with my car. It is a 2002 Z06. I am not certain what caused my signal lights to stop working, then begin working again. Thanks in advance.

Congratulations! You both own C5 Corvettes. Your flasher is going out. You've already found that by punching the hazard switch a couple of time the signals start working properly again, but this fix only lasts so long. The signal flasher in an integral part of the hazard switch. You need to pull the console, radio bezel, and radio. This will allow you to get to the flasher and pull it/fish it down and put a new one in. Buy the new one first so you can see how it clips in. You can only reach one side of clips, but after thats loose you can push, with some effort, the unit out the back side. Do a search and you find a do it yourself write up with pictures.
