Installed 2 vararams today
There are a number of people who have published helpful directions we read in advance that made the job real easy.Placed a thick piece of cardboard over the condensor and a 1/4 piece of plywood under the shroud when we were cutting to preclude the dreaded condensor puncture.
The biggest problem you will have is the factory directions. We then took the car for a spin through Sedona out through 89 to Cornyville, then back. A big seat of the pants improvement. A highly recommended addition.
Installed the 2nd one in my C5 .Basically the snakecharmer is a much higher quality unit and easier to install then the c5 unit and this is dictated by the front bumper design.
The VRb2 is supposed to be the latest rev of the design. The old rev must have been pretty bad.The holes did not line up where they join and the seal was trimmed too small from the factory. I read a post where someone said the directions must have been translated from chinese by a retarded person.
I thought that was cruel until I read them. If one of my applications engineers had ever written anything like that for one of my customers I would have fired them!
I used I think was cajundudes directions. Easy to read. Took me about three hours with some redrilling, trimming etc. Hope to take it for a spin in the AM.
Now that I am done whining and crying about the issues, I still think it will be a great improvement and am happy with the end result.
I plan to put the Z06 screens on the intakes and use a silicone air coupler to get rid of the bellows.
I highly recommend the unit. Good bang for the buck!
