Default Clutch Maintenance

Doing some routine maintenance on the 00 Vert with 95K. One of the things I thought I should do is to have the clutch fluid replaced and clutch adjusted. No issues with the clutch but with the amount of miles, I thought it was a good idea to do.

My local dealership said, absolutely no way should I do that. The fluid does not break down similarly to that of brake fluid and if the clutch is not giving me a problem, don't worry about it.

Your thoughts?

Search "Ranger" threads on clutch maintenance....even if you disagree with the threads the fluid is the same fluid for brakes and clutch, if it's not a nice golden colour and shows up black, positive advice is to change it.

With that year and miles it breaks down, just look at it. I would at least suck it out of the reservoir and add new. On my 01' with 44k I even saw a little mud on the bottom, cleaned it out too. Sneak in the kitchen and borrow the turkey baster, works good. Use the same fluid as for brakes. I would even do it once a month for few months till it looks good. Your brake reservoir would like it also, or bleed it all out after you suck it out.
