Put set of QA1 adjustable shocks on car and now have car that rides like a truck. 12 positions and +1 should be the mildest -not so mild -will put it all the way to full negative -should be interesting!! Have tried it at +6 or halfway and it is still harsh. Tried it a +4 in front and +3 in rear -this was a recommendation - and still it rode like a truck. Any ideas??
Don't mean to be a SA but you DID expect a harsher ride didn't you?
The shocks are "adjustable." If the softest is like a truck what will the harshest bring? It is why I went to an adjustable shock -I knew the ride would not be smooth as stock even at the mildest setting, but this is way too harsh at smoothest setting. If I were to adjust to a sportier setting then I understand the harshness but not at the mildest setting. You are not a "SA" for replying with your thoughts.

I have the QA1s and I set mine at +5 front and +6 rear...its very stiff for around town streets with bumps and ruts....but where QA1s really show up is stability at higher speeds on smooth surfaces. There is a trade off between ride comfort and handling and if you don't like the softest setting try a set of Bilstein Sports....they might give you the sportier feel you want, but not shake your dentures loose on bumpy surfaces.
Mmmmm....sounds like you may have overstepped your bounds. The QA1s are going to be a little more, how shall I say, race oriented. Did you "step up" to these or was it one big leap?
Wow...I have a totally different experience. (I have QA1 12-point shocks.) For the street I keep them set on 3. At settings 1 or 2 the ride is too soft...kind of floaty. I ran Bilsteins before the QA1's and the Bilsteins were terrible on rough roads; the QA1's are much smoother. For racing on road courses, I set them on 10-11. Keep in mind that I have T1 bars installed too.
I would contact QA1. They are very helpful. If you read their promo for the product, they talk about a smooth ride on the street. It is not sold as strictly a track shock.
