Default Corsa catback exhaust

I am planning to install a Corsa cat back exhaust and was wondering how high I will have to raise my C5 to get it over the axel.

Not that high if you cut the old one off.

3 or 4 feet if you want to remove the stock in 1 piece

if you are willing to cut the stock pipe you can do the job in your garage with a good hydraulic jack on each side

I saved my old exhausts and now I have 2 sets in my barn that I'll never do anything with except eat up space!

I changed mine on a lift. Would guess that you need about 3 feet off the ground. (measured form the bottom of the frame.)

Use a heavy duty truck jack and jack stands available from Habor Freight. Put the front end up on jackstands first so the nose doesn't touch the ground.

If its not a z06, just cut the stockers. Worth less than shipping costs if you tried to sell them.

Thanks guys. Being the tight fisted guy that I am, I thought I would save the old exhaust and reinstall it when I sell the car and then sell the corsa.

Put mine on a couple of weeks ago. I used a lift that a buddy had. Did not cut them and was up probably 4 feet or 5 feet.

I did mine in the garage.

The rear needs to be up about 30 - 36 inches.

I drove the front up on some rhino ramps and then jacked up the back.
The elevation of the front makes the angle of the car when its in the air a little less steep and safer IMHO. Used jack stands under the back and put some blocks under the wheels for safety.

When the pipes are unbolted from the h-pipe, the mufflers and over the axle pipes have to swing down and rotate to get the pipe out over the axle. Not a big deal if the car is high enough. The Corsa instructions are great and easy to follow.

Don't cut the pipes - they are useless if you do. Take them out as one piece so you can put them back in and go back to stock if you change your mind or you have a warranty problem with the Corsa. Some one may want to buy them too.

Its an easy mod - good luck.
