Go to Wallmart and get their 7 year battery- free replacement for 3 years and then pro rated. $63 There is always a Wallmart nearby if you need a replacement. And the best part is you just take the battery in to the service desk and the transaction is handled there. No having to have it tested, recharged, etc.

Unless the Walmart ones are Spiral Wound Glass Matt like the Orbital, AC or the Optima, it will leak and eat the the wiring harness under the batt tray. Thats why everyone is having to use these expensive batteries. Mine went last week, no warning, just went. Luckily I was at home; replaced with an Exide Orbital.

My rule of thumb is 5 years whether it needs it or not.
It is sort of hard to get a jump out in the mojave desert on the way to Vegas. I like to be pro active on this sort of stuff. I will let others set these records.
