Default $480,still not right!!! HELP !!!

Had a issue with the gauge cluster. Gauages would completly die.Go to 0.HUD all jacked up to. Took car to dealer and they were 2 connecters under dash not even connected. Not communicating with the BCM. Ran fine for a day or two. Now gauges going hay-wire blinking real fast ,no HUD , goofy reading A6A6A1A1A6A1. Even stays on when car is shut off. Now dealer wants to replace the gauge cluster at a cost of $625
Is it a GHOST????

Follow this link and pull up your codes:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=26&TopicID=1

It could be a couple of things causing this and the gauge cluster was the first one on my list, what I don't understand is what 2 connectors were not connected under your dash?

and if you had 2 connectors disconnected you wouldn't have an intermittent problem it would be jacked up permanently.

About a month ago my gauges all stopped working when driving home from work... the oil pressure was pegged. The only gauge working was the fuel gauge.

The DIC was non functional and the backlighting to the DIC controls was out.

Long story short the main board in my gauge cluster went bad... luckily I have close friends w/ C5s and was able to yank a cluster out of one of their cars to test and when plugged in the new cluster worked perfectly.

Send my cluster to Josh (PaceThis) for full repair and mileage transfer for a great price.

HTH.

oh ya, drove it the other day and noticed the mileage went from 43,000 to 10,000 . it's now stuck on that... well , i told the dealership to order the new gauge cluster.
it's a 2001 mag red 6 speed. had the car a little over a year.i waited a long time for this car, drove from pa. to n.c. for it.

If you are interested in removing the cluster yourself there is a complete write up by a forum sponsor called LAPD. The write up is to install chrome gauge bezels but bottom line is they remove the gauge cluster in a simple straight forward process. Just a thought
