I thought maybe it could be a belt tensioner, or maybe my header was loose, but the noise is coming the drivers side head. It increases with rpm so it' probably not the header, and it seems to be getting worse and worse. car still runs strong, just idles a little rough. car has 92k on it so she got some miles. maybe it's a broken push rod or spring or something. it's driving me nuts thats all i know.
.
You sure its not your tensioner bearing transfering noise through the head? Or the AC clutch?
Ive had bent push rods, broke rockers, springs, rollers broken in half on the lifters, nothing ever squealed.
My tensioner bearing is definately going south....after warm up sounds like a rattling mess of needle bearings. Just ordered my new tensioner from Fred Beans.
Is the bearing in the pulley or in the tensioner housing?
