need help please look inside
streering colum lock is not working and the light keeps coming on whats wrong, how do i fix it???????? also will it do anything if i keep driving it like this? thanks

Many/MOST of us intentionally bypass the steering column lock so that it doesn't work.
The reason... there is a design flaw that affects 90+% of all C5's before '02 . The flaw causes the column to lock and remain locked no matter what you do... GM has attempted many fixes/recalls, but none work as well as the aftermarket bypass ( CLB)

What lights are you talking about that keep coming on? Are you getting a message on the DIC ( driver information center) that says pull key and wait 10 seconds, or service column lock??? or are you talking about some other lights??
If you have a column lock fault the computer sends a message to the engine and won't let the car be driven over 2 mph...

hi
service column lock this is the message i get but the cars drives and steers fine but the colum doesn't lock which i don't really care its insured lol but will something bad happen soon if i keep driving it..
if your answer is no how do i keep the message from coming on?
or is there a recall where i can just take it in? i just bought this car so i am not sure if the recall was already done on it!!!!!!!
