Default Seat belt warning light when using harnesses

I am putting harnesses and Brey-Krause brackets in my Vette. Is there a way to disable the seatbelt warning light so it won't be on when I'm using the harness?

I have a Z with Corbeau seats and harnesses but I left the stock seat belt in and I have no lights. There is a small two pin connector that goes from the seat belt receptacle to the seat memory module that you may be able to disconnect to prevent the light from coming on. I know there have been a few guys that have had problems with their cars after installing aftermarket seats but I never did. There have been discussions on this board before about whether the body style(Z06 or Coupe) makes a difference as far as the seat belt light issue goes. It may come one, it may not. I would try disconnecting the wire and see what happens.

I could not find a T500 socket either. I bought a T50 and it worked just fine (at least on my 99). Cost a few bucks as opposed to $35+ I saw on one website. I don't know why the instructions say you have to have a T500.

I am using the clip-in seat brackets and the harness bar. I started on the drivers side last night and tried to save some time by leaving the seat in the car. My advice - take the seat out. You have to anyway to get to the inside seat bracket.

So far it is an easy install. I got the harness bar installed and the bolts finger tight. I still need to do the upright bars and the passenger side seat brackets. It should take me less than an hour.

I'll post pics when I'm done with the harness installed.

go to a junkyard and cut the buckle end off of a bad seat belt that will work (assuming that most of the GM belts are the same) and plug that into the stock belt receptacle. After your track event, just pop it out and use the belts normally....... no wires to screw with. just an idea.....

I had the drivers seat out and found a wire coming out of the bottom of the seat belt latch end and plugged into a harness under the seat.

I unplugged the wire and put the seat back in. The car started up and no light on the dash. I did not get a chance to drive around yet to see if there are any issues with the wire being unhooked. But I did get the B-K hardware installed and the G-Force 6-point harness installed on the passenger side

Almost there.

Sounds like it's coming along nicely. Post up some pics when you get everything done. I would say if your light didn't come on when you fired the car up then you shouldn't have any issues.

Good Luck
