Charlie and Andy great guys and really knowledgeable. I had put LG PRO headers and failed the Cali smog. My car needed a tune but did not want to spend the money to get the dyno tune since I am planning on some more mods I spoke with Charlie for his mail in tune but I did not have the HP tuner to download the file. Charlie honored his mail-in-rebate deal and asked me to come down to the shop.
Even though it was a long drive from San Diego and I had to take a day off from work but I am glad to say that it was worth every bit. I got to hang out with these two great guys and some of their customers, exchanged ideas and got to look at all the awesome cars they were working on.
To say the least they are really good tuners and Charlie's tune not only helped my car pass the smog but it also gained more power and better gas consumption.
At the end of the day just with Headers and Blackwing my car was making 362 RWTQ and 370 RWHP and ran awesome.
I highly recommend these guys for anyone who can afford to drive their car to them

How would LG Pros LT make you fail smog, other than the visual? Running cats of course. If you have headers and cats on a stock cammed car there's no reason you shouldn't be able to pass the sniffer portion of the test.
SLO C5, That is exactly what I thought before putting those in but after I saw the numbers for the sniffer test they were way off. After talking to several forum members I got to know that I needed a tune since LTs throw the computer off. In my case I believe my car was running way rich so I am sure a tune helped fix that and some other stuff because all the sniffer numbers are way under max now.

tune
Ah, I was under the impression that you had a "smog only" tune done at A&A. If this was a performance tune, the type often done when people do headers, then that's cool.
I have LG Pros sitting on my floor right now waiting to go on, and was going to do a tune shortly after. Now I feel better.
I don't think you can go wrong with a tune from A&A Corvettes. I have personally been out with Charlie holding his laptop while he was driving and logging data to the car. Only after he was satisfied things were on target would he return to the shop for the full power dyno tune.

I guess you lucked out with the visual part of the smog test. The technicians are trained not to pass cars with long tube headers installed if they don't have a C.A.R.B. sticker.
Yes you can say that I lucked out. Because the guy did do a visual under the car and he did figure out those were LTs but he looked the other way........
