Default Friday The 13th = Electrical Gremlins!?

Well today my C5 started to act up on me, the first thing that happend was that when i put the key into the ignition, my seat didnt automatically move forward to my driver position #1. ( i have a 97 coupe with memory pkg. and easy entry ON).

weird, so i started her up and manually pressed #1 on the memory and the seat went into position.. weird.. so anyways, later on, i go to exit the vehicle and when i remove the key, the seat doesnt go all the way back it just kinda flinches downa half inch or so.. so i crawl out.. when i lock the car, i see the sear move back up a half inch (up as in towards the ceiling).

WTF... so i go on about my day, later, i get in the car put the seat all the way back and enter code-reading mode. I dont have any new codes so i toggle the easy entry OFF then back ON. turn the key off and remove it and the seat slide back like normal then i put the key in and AGAIN it wont go to driver position 1. so i turn it off and pull the key out, i went out later to see if i could fool with it some, i bring back up code-reader mode and I get codes B2578 -H- ( RF TURN SIGNAL MONITOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE) B2583 -H- (LF TURN SIGNAL MONITOR CIRCUIT SHORT) AND a U1016 -H- (Loss of communications with PCM)... WTF IS THIS!?

I know my flasher switch is toast so i bought a new one just havent installed it.. but why is my seat acting so dumb now? and why have these codes shown up, but only as history items not current ones?! ive only had the car a week

Worth having the battery checked

Random electrical gremlins can be the first sign of a battery going bad

Default Check your grounds, too

There's a good thread here about the location of grounds (11 of them as I recall) and what to do to properly clean them. A lot of electrical "problems" are, in reality, simply bad grounding or weak battery issues.

i think it might be weak battery syndrome. even though the battery looks new, yesterday my volt readings were like 14.2 then 13.4 then 13.8 then 14.4 then 13.1 all in a 20 min drive on the highway..

I would load test the battery, inspect for leaks and check grounds. I've heard of some other guys having trouble with their seats moving erratically on them - there is supposedly a sensor for the seat with the memory package. You might want to check that also, it may need to be replaced.
