coolant leak
I pulled my 98 A4 coupe out of the garage last weekend after sitting sincel last November. I had the battery on a trickle charger so no starting issues. I backed it out of the garage and noticed a small spot of liquid on the floor. Upon further investigation I determined it was coolant. I also noticed a small pattern of splatter that is perpendicular to the body. I am sure coolant had been flung off the belt or the pulley. I am assuming this the dreaded water pump leak but I know what assuming does so thats why I am asking, is this the water pump leaking or is it by chance something else?

I would go to autozone and borrow the coolant pressure tester(you just put down a deposit and get it back when you return it). It is simple to use and can help you find the leak.
If you can get to it, you can also check the bottom of the water pump for corosion, this is where you see the first signs of leakage.
