...the driver's side headlight on my buddy's '00 'vert comes back up when he turns the headlights off. It raises and lowers fine so I don't think it's a gear problem. But when he turns the headlights off the driver's side comes right back up. He has to lower it manualy. Thoughts?
Mine started to do that a while back. It would pop back up and down about 6 times before stopping open. There are 4 little tabs that create the stops for the up and the down positions. They are identified and capped off with a yellowish color nylon caps. Check those. There will be two located right behind the headlight that will be visible with the lights off and the hood open. If they are dented or cracked you should replace them. There are two more in front that are harder to see but still reachable with the hood open and the lights on. The dealer had the gall to charge me $6 apiece for them. About a year later they eventually dented again. I rotated them and then eventually found that I could flip them over too. When it happened yet again, I just took some big pliers and bent the metal tabs slightly and solved the problem for good...... so far.
