Default Brake Fluid Flush

I am new to this group and I searched the forums regarding flushing the brake fluid on my '01. I purchased the AC/Delco cross drilled and slotted rotors plus the pads from my neighbor's Chev dealer, I got 'em for cost so the price was right. Can I flush my fluid without making my ABS and DIC send my car to the dealer? I have been doing brake work on my own GM cars for about 30 years so I am not a newbie to it. So far it looks quite simple other than the fluid flush? Please bed kind to me as I am new to this forum! Thanks! Dan

You won't get the last drop purged without the Tech II tool, but otherwise it's just like any other car. I have never bled with a Tech II tool. I'd be broke if I had to take it to a dealer ever time I boiled brake fluid.

I think I recall someone posting that you could easily activate ABS and push fluid thru it with a few hard stops at full lock on steeering. I run mine on the track, so ABS is actived a lot and I don't worry about circulating that fluid out.

Suck most of the old stuff out of reservoir with a turkey baster and fill back up with new stuff and it will go faster. don't use turkey baster for food afterwards.

I am "currently" single so I can use any of my kitchen untensils on my sweet C-5! Thanks again for the replies for the brake fluid flush!

Just make sure the master cylinder doesn't go dry while bleeding. If it does you could end up going to the dealer to get the ABS bled.
